Apple TV it will be for me
January 9th 2007Finally something slightly more convincing than crappy FrontRow when it comes to everyday media consumption from Apple.
Apple TV (it is actually written with a small Apple logo instead of the word ‘Apple’ but somehow that is impossible in Wordpress…) has a few more tricks up its sleeve, and thank God for that. It’s nothing new really, but it is ‘more of the same’. Basically you can stream everything (or anything) iTunes can play (with a few exceptions) from up to five mac’s or (god forbid) pc’s in your local network to the Apple TV and then enjoy it on your plasma or LCD. Nothing new you say? Nope, you are quite right. Come to think about it, why did I order one?
Oh, and they released a new very exciting Wireless Basestation too, the ‘All New Airport Extreme‘, with the IEEE 802.11n draft specification. Meaning you are screwed if they change the specification on the new ‘n’ standard, but that’s not going to happen, is it?
