No, not the song by Kaizer Chiefs, though quite rocking I’ll say, but the open source web framework Ruby on Rails for making sexy web apps. It’s supposed to be quite easy, and it probably is if you are a developer/programmer of some sorts, but not for a novice like me. From their website:

So in 5 minutes, we create a web-based search engine for Flickr using their public API with all the fades and glamour of Ajax.

Well, not in my book. Tried it but failed miserably. Will try again though, the web needs more thoughtless, sexy apps.

MAMP your Mac!

I loves me some MAMP! I’ve been reading about LAMP several times, but finally I came around to try out MAMP on my MacBook Pro, and let me tell you it pretty much rocks! For those of you that have no clue what I’m head over heels for, MAMP/LAMP are ‘virtual webservers’, the perfect for developing fresh new web sites on your local computer. So stick round, ’cause I’m redesigning pixelcollector any time soon now, any time…

Oh, and the abbreviation stands for Macintosh (or Linux), Apache, Mysql and PHP if you ever wondered…
