No, it doesn’t support Flash, but do I care? No. Because the iPad is not going to replace any of my computers as a primary “tool”, nor will it replace my kindle as ebook reader of choice. It will blend in very nicely and complement my other devices within the confinement of my four walls, aka home.

In my home the iPad will be the perfect device to control applications and solutions like Boxee, Apple TV, Spotify and Sonos. Yes you can do this with the iPhone now, but the iPad has much larger screen estate and thus bigger possibilities for new functionality and ways to control your media consumption, like showing the same movie on the iPad as on your Apple TV and at the same time you can view a lightbox with information and ratings from IMDB, or related movies and content from the iTunes Store (This is Apple after all).

Another thing with the iPad is all the new ways you can read magazines. I really love reading quality magazines, enjoying the work and thought that has been put into the design and layout, the photographs, even the ads which are an integral part of a good magazine in my opinion, and off course it has to be a great read. But wouldn’t the experience be so much more powerful and make an impact on you if you could ad video to the mix? Moving images and music are a powerful combination, both in the editorial content and in the ads, and they could be optimized for viewing on the iPad meaning high quality content. Wired in collaboration with Adobe has their own take on this, you can view the video beneath, and i really like the slick design and their thought on UX.

Swedish media giant and publisher Bonnier has also ventured into this territory with a slightly more futuristic twist, but this also looks fantastic. I wish I could buy it today. Video embedded below:

‘C’etait un Rendezvous’ made in 1976 by Claude Lelouch has always been a special movie to me, featuring what I (and everybody else) thought to be a Ferrari 275 racing through the streets of Paris. It is truly awesome. But I just, and by just I mean 7 minutes ago, learn’ed that he actually used a quite different car for the shoot, a Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL 6.9. Yepp, a huge and heavy MB, no small, nimble and agile Italian thoroughbred… Even though the MB still is a really special car, it sort of takes some of the magic away from the movie, but I can’t stop loving it either. Make sure you see the entire clip and decide for yourself!
