Over at the Spotify blog there is news about a first for Spotify, music videos in the player. However, there seems to be some confusion around what this really is, and I quote:
You can view the video within Spotify Free as a pop-up on the homepage or if you are a premium user here on the blog.
So, if I understand this correctly, I as a Premium user cannot see the music video in the player, I have to watch it on the blog, whereas all the free users can watch it in their player. Ok, I think it is fair to say the music video is a normal, good ol’ fashion ad then, and in my mind it is really nothing to boast on their blog as being “the first ever, full length music video on Spotify”. If you browse through the comments you can see it has created quite some confusion and disturbance amongst the Spotify users as well.
So I can watch a full length music video on their blog? As one of the commenters said, we got Youtube for that. As much as I love Spotify, this was a rather strange move, could we call it a fail?
Can you see the music video in your player?

No, it doesn’t support Flash, but do I care? No. Because the iPad is not going to replace any of my computers as a primary “tool”, nor will it replace my kindle as ebook reader of choice. It will blend in very nicely and complement my other devices within the confinement of my four walls, aka home.

In my home the iPad will be the perfect device to control applications and solutions like Boxee, Apple TV, Spotify and Sonos. Yes you can do this with the iPhone now, but the iPad has much larger screen estate and thus bigger possibilities for new functionality and ways to control your media consumption, like showing the same movie on the iPad as on your Apple TV and at the same time you can view a lightbox with information and ratings from IMDB, or related movies and content from the iTunes Store (This is Apple after all).
